What is the BeneFlex Convenience Card?

The BeneFlex Convenience Card facilitates payment for eligible expenses at the point of service. Participants avoid the traditional hassles of an FSA. No longer is there a need to pay cash for services, fill out or submit claim forms or, wait for reimbursement checks.

The advantages of the card:

  • Deducts payment directly from a participants' account. No more paying cash for services in addition to a payroll deduction.
  • Eliminates waiting for reimbursement checks and filling out lengthy claim forms.
  • Online access to account information enables participants and administrators to check balances at any time.
  • Offsets rising healthcare costs.
  • Significantly increases plan participation and contributions.
  • Additional cards available for dependents.

Employer advantages

The BeneFlex Convenience card is an attractive benefit for employers because it increases employee participation in Flexible Spending Accounts and Transit Reimbursement Accounts. The card reduces the need to file claim forms and virtually eliminates the need to pay cash for eligible expenses.

Here's how it works:

  • Employee enrolls in the Flex Plan by the enrollment deadline date.

  • The automated system: Determines if provider is, in fact, "qualified" and validates adequate funds in the plan's master account then, pays the vendor directly.
